Varsity Softball hosted Hanover in the semi-final round of the Region 4B softball tournament on 5/29 and defeated the Hawks 9-2.  Tori Gilbert was 2 for 3 at the plate with a 3-run homer and a double.  Mason Basdikis was 2 for 4 with a 2 RBI double.  Sami Pleasants had a 2RBI triple as the Indians scored all 9 runs in the first and second inning.  Autumn Lederman had 2 hits for the Indians, while Taylor Dickerson and Katlyn Mayo also contributed hits.

Basdikis went the distance in the circle for Powhatan scattering 4 hits and striking out 4 batters, as Powhatan improved to 17-1 on the season. 

Powhatan will advance to the Region 4B Finals, hosting Dinwiddie on Thursday, 5/31, and will advance to the Group 4A State Tournament starting on Tuesday, June 5th.
